Eight Polling Methodologies Predict Obama Presidency, White Voters Still With McCain10/20/08
Here is a full blast of the polls released on Monday. Some of them are obviously duplicates from polls we released early Monday morning. Of the eight polling methodologies that have either candidate near the 270 electoral votes necessary to become President, all of them say Obama will win.
According to the polls today, it appears as though Obama is widening his support among Independents. "Independent voters continue to move toward Obama in droves. He now has a 51-33 lead with them." says Public Policy Polling's North Carolina poll. And white voters are still pro-McCain. According to the General Election North Carolina poll by Public Policy Polling: McCain now leads among white voters just 55-39, an edge that’s not nearly enough given Obama’s 92-6 lead with black voters. According to the General Election Missouri poll by Rasmussen Reports for FOX News: Men in Missouri favor Obama by a 48% to 45% margin, while women favor the Democrat, 50% to 43%. McCain still has an edge among white voters in the state, 48% to 45%, while Obama has a dominant lead among non-white voters. According to the General Election Colorado poll by Rasmussen Reports for FOX News: White voters are closely divided but lean toward McCain. Non-white voters prefer Obama 67% to 31%.
