A Clear Majority Believe Sex Education Should Be Taughty By Parents1/15/09 Tags: Education, Social Issues From Rasmussen Reports
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) Sex education in school has become very controversial, if not more than contentious as the teaching of evolution. As more and more teens get pregnant, education about the process of sex should be taught in schools to educate young adults about abstinence and sexual responsibility. In a new Rasmussen telephone survey, though, disagree. A clear majority, 80%, believe that sexual education should be taught by parents. While the fundamentals of sex can be covered by parents, this author believes that most will fail at explaining the details and the specifics of the process. Some parents will be too shy to offer graphic details and will not fully educate their youth about the alternatives to sex. Sex education in schools will be unbiased and impartial; truly, this nation needs to have universal sex education in schools to prevent future unwanted pregnancies.
