Americans disagree with former vice president Dick Cheney in his statement regarding the safety of America, now that Obama has released a CIA memo regarding the harsh interrogation methods used on terrorism suspects.

We need to be upfront of what we have done in the past, and in so doing, we will cleanse our past faults. This author does not believe that the release of this information will endanger this country; in fact, this author believes that the rest of the world will now realize that we are changing.

We are no longer hiding the facts and we are showin that our government is open. But, let this not be a sign to our enemies that we are weak. we are an open society, but once provoked, we are all ready to defend ourselves.

Torture of prisoners is never acceptable, thus, President Obama was correct in divulging the CIA memo and repudiating these prior acts.
