Americans Divided over Whether Or Not To Lift Economic Embargo On Cuba4/19/09 Tags: Foreign Relations From Rasmussen (conducted: 4/9-10/09)
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) Times have changed. It is also time to lift the economic embargo on Cuba. In a recent Rasmussen Reports telephone survey the organization found that Americans are still relatively split on whether or not to lift the economic ban on Cuba. This topic comes to the surface as President Obama goest to Latin American countries to discuss US relations with Cuba. The ban needs to be repealed because it is antiquated and is out of touch with today's national security agenda. As far as this author knows, Cuba no longer poses a great threat to this country's national security. In fact, the only thing Cuba threatens is the introduction of national health care. President Obama hopefully will get good guidance from the Latin American countries and finally end the embargo.
