Conflict Between Palestinians And Israelis6/4/09 Tags: Foreign Affairs From Rasmussen (conducted: 6/1-2/09)
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) As focus turns to the Middle East and its problems, the question of whether the conflict between Israel and Palestine will ever be resolved looms to surface again. In a recent Rasmussen survey, the organization found that a whopping 74% believe that peace will not be reached within the next 10 years. Conversely, 21% feel the opposite, saying that conflicts will end between the two sides in the near future. To this author, this conflict is very complex, and one that will end, but not anytime soon. Both sides seem to be very stubborn and are not willing to negotiate with the other side. This Israel-Palestine dispute has been going on for the past few decades, and while President Obama will try his best to resolve this pressing issue, many more diplomatic gestures must occur before we finally see peace in the Middle East.
