Environmental Concerns Worry Americans3/25/09 Tags: Environment From Gallup (conducted: 3/5-8/09)
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) In a recent Gallup poll, the polling organization found that the greatest environmental concern for Americans was the pollution and availability of potable water. As drinking water is essential to human survival this data comes to no surprise. This vital part of human civilization should be protected and guarded against all threats, natural or human-influenced. Others that topped the list include air pollution and tropical rain forests. Interestingly, global warming comes in last on the list (perhaps this topic has now become politicized, rather than a neutral one). In all, planet Earth is our home. We must protect and continue to clean our environment as to not pollute it further, so future generations can enjoy what we currently take for granted today.
