Majority Say Madoff Should Not Keep The Money3/11/09 Tags: General From Rasmussen Reports (conducted: 3/8-9/09)
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) As Wall Street financier Bernard Madoff is expected to plead guilty to 11 criminal counts on Thursday regarding his role in a Ponzi scheme, the majority of Americans polled by Rasmussen agree that he should not be able to keep the money he stole from investors. Madoff was hoping to keep the more than $70 million he acquired and give this amount to his wife as he serves his expected sentence. This is one thing both Republicans and Democrats can finally agree upon: that money should be returned to those who were duped and tricked. This author cannot understand the audacity of Madoff. This criminal should be sentenced and have the keys thrown away. This situation simply highlights what can go wrong if there is no oversight in our financial markets and greed takes over.
