Most Americans Favor Union Formations3/17/09 Tags: Labor Unions From Gallup (conducted: 3/14-15/09)
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) In a new Gallup poll conducted recently, it found that Americans are receptive to a new law being considered in Congress that would make it easier for people to form Unions. The new law in question is the Free Choice Act, a bill that would make it easier for Unions to form by simply having a majority of the workers sign union authorization forms. Unions have long been the advocate for the common worker and this author feels strongly for its principle values. Big business and corporations often abuse and use its employees, but with a Union, those 'little guys' will have a voice. Interestingly, in the same polling data, Gallup found that 60% of Republicans oppose the new proposed law, while 70% of Democrats favor it. Check Gmail, Facebook, and IM simultaneously with Digsby.
