Poll Suggests Tax Cuts Will Help Economy1/28/09 Tags: Tax, Economy From Rasmussen Reports
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) In a recent Rasmussen Reports telephone survey, it found that 57% say that tax cuts will help the economy. As tax season approaches and our economy continues to plummet, the question of whether or not to tax and how much now becomes paramount. The tax code was set up so that the federal government could provide for its' citizens. A portion of one's earnings is taken and given to the government so that it may be used for the common good. Without social programs, a country's economy will stagnate because the quality of life will be lowered. It is a fine interplay between taxes and consumer confidence. Though the author agrees somewhat that tax cuts are necessary to help out those that really need it, lowering taxes should be kept at a minumum and should be maintained by those who can really afford it.
